Women’s Choice: America’s Best Hospital for Cardiology Services, Orthopedic Care and Outpatient Experience.
Sarah Bush Lincoln has been named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Outpatient Experience by the Women’s Choice Award®, America’s trusted referral source for the best in healthcare.
Hospitals aiming to provide the most appropriate and value-based care along with advances in technology such as minimally invasive techniques have shifted many patient cases to outpatient settings. As a result, hospitals have made significant strides in providing increased customer service to improve the outpatient experience.
Cardiology services and Orthopedic service each received the 2019 & 2020 Women’s Choice award for America’s Best Hospitals for Heart Care and America’s Best Hospital for Orthopedic Care. The awards are based on information from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as well as accreditation information. Data provided is totally objective and uniform. No subjective considerations are used to determine the award recipients.
For Heart Care SBL must offer at least six of the following services:
- Cardiac Catheter Lab
- Cardiac Rehabilitation
- Cardiac Surgery
- Carotid Stenting
- Coronary Interventions
- Vascular Intervention
- Vascular Surgery
- Coronary Intensive Care (CCU)
Only qualified hospitals that performed well clinically with regard to heart care measures of mortality and readmission as reported to Medicare, and also have a high Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) recommendation score, are selected.
Advanced Wound Center
The Advanced Wound Center was recognized in 2018 with the national award for clinical excellence by Healogics, the nation’s leading and largest wound care management company. To earn the award, the Advanced Wound Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patint satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a wound-healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 31 median days. The Center offers highly specialized wound care to people suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds, which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.
